Every girl needs a good pair of cut off shorts. No matter what the age or body type shorts are a must in the summer. It seems that every year the shorts keep getting shorter and shorter in the stores and a few years back I decided I would steer clear of them and cut old jeans to make and style my own. (I have done this to more than half of the shorts I own) Even if DIY’s aren’t your thing this is the easiest thing for anyone to do. It becomes really fun when you cut, fray and style a pair of old jeans from a thrift store because there is little to no investment, these were $7!!!!!
Levi’s are hard to find so I felt like I scored with this pair from Savers. I simply cut them and allowed them to fray naturally. I would wear them, then wash them, wear them, and wash them, even when they didn’t need to be washed I washed them because that’s what gets them frayed the fastest.

Bowties, loafers, boyfriend jeans, slippers, over sized cardigans & blazers, you name it. I want it all. I have always had a soft spot for menswear and especially love mixing it with feminine pieces. Here I kept it basic casual and let the shoes do all the talking…

Have a lovely day!
The 70’s may be my favorite decade. The carefree, hippie mentality off LOVING all seems so simple, yet decades later we still struggle with judgement, hostility, closed mindedness and bitterness. I really feel the way that people dressed in the 70’s is completely on trend to today August 15th 2012. The bell-bottom jeans, platform shoes, crop tops, cut off shorts, flowy off the shoulder blouses, tie dyed items, fitted blazers, leotards and we cannot forget the innovation of the “wrap dress” by one of my favorite designers Diane von Furstenberg. Yes it’s true, the 70’s have to be my favorite decade. These high waisted shorts were pants that I cut and have perfectly frayed over the years. Levi’s are so classic America. It took a long time for me to find a pair that fit right, but they have easily become such a summer go-to for me.
