You can never go wrong with a classic blazer. I feel as though every woman needs the following blazers in their closets: 1 black, 1 white/navy/tan/grey, 1 striped or two toned, and 1 floral or bright colored solid.  You will find that they go w/EVERYTHING you own!!!!  When I first laid eyes on this vintage blazer I instantly thought of Kate Middleton! So obvi it was coming home with me.  To play on this classic/vintage combination I added all vintage accessories.IMG_4374IMG_4379IMG_4382

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Red Suede Shoes

One of the main reasons I started this blog was to give myself an outlet where I could be creative…Putting together all of these outfits takes time yes, but I love it. I would do it all day if I could.  My love for styling isn’t limited to just my own.  I love when a friend calls or texts me questions & advice on what to wear to things.  I love dressing people up, letting them borrow items for a night and seeing them smile because it’s another way to feel beautiful.

The idea behind “Amy’s Vintage Closet” began sometime in my 20’s when I realized that even though I owned pieces similar to other people, I did not dress like most of them.  My style is a mix of thrifted/vintage items mixed with Forever 21, Nordstrom, TJ Maxx and Ebay.  In my opinion there is nothing more original than mixing of an item designed decades ago with something you recently purchased.

There are two things that I do splurge on…Can you guess which two they are??? DING DING DING…Shoes and Handbags.  :) Guilty as charged! But those two items will inevitably outlive me so they may as well be something that is extra gorgeous! May I introduce you to these red beauties designed by the ever so talented Brian Atwood!brian atwood figara brian atwood figara red bootie pump vintage elephant belt kate spade sunglasses, vintage scarf

Black & Bow’d

Today’s look is a classic black on black winter go-to for me if I am getting dressed up. I live in black blazers and this vintage one with the gold buttons has been such a practical, wearable piece.  When wearing all one color I like the idea of mixing textures together. This will create more depth for your black on black look.  vintage black blazer

Day to Night-Part 2-Vintage Tweed

Welcome to Tuesday BZ’s!!! I forgot how much fun day to night posts are! I posted my first day to night post this summer, here! You can definitely count on more of these in the future.  In order to make this outfit work from day to night in Arizona where it is still occasionally 80 degrees I added some simple tights, wedge booties, a necklace and a vintage blazer! If you live in colder climates I would add a thicker tight, possibly a higher boot and a colored trench instead of the blazer.

My Standard Fall Uniform

Good Morning lovelies! I don’t know about you, but I am getting so excited for the Holiday’s. My mama’s birthday is tomorrow and then our favorite holiday, Thanksgiving is on Thursday!!!  So much to be thankful for! In a post back in October I shared with you my fav Fall items and this outfit is spot on to that list! During this time of year you can 90% of the time find me in something similar to the pictures below.  It doesn’t matter what trend is in or not each year, I have been sporting something similar to this look since college.  There are many ways you can mix and match this outfit. Ditch the thick liquid legging, replace it with a tight, pair the blazer with rugged cut off shorts and add booties! For a more layered look add a thick knit underneath the blazer and leave it unbuttoned.  This would look great with the black flat boots!

Double Breasted & Leather Detailed

Wooo whooo Friday is here! AAAAAnnnd it’s less than a week from Thanksgiving!! I cannot believe how fast this year is flying by.  As the cool weather continues to grace us zonies with it’s presence I will continue to wear all 34 of my jackets/coats…jk I don’t think I have 34 coats. Well, maybe. This jacket I found at a consignment store while living in San Diego and I honestly haven’t worn it before.  I love the material, pattern, leather details, buttons, but I didn’t like the fit of it.  It is very oversized and I felt that it made me look like I was smuggling potatoes. (Whitney I spelled potatoes right this time!) Through some change of heart/style/mind/waist size it now suddenly appeals to me very much and was screaming at me to take pictures of it!  Plus how amaze does it look paired with my new DIY cap toe flats I just made! It was a match made in heaven.

Floral, Mint & Neon

Floral, Mint, and Neon…Possibly my 3 fav trends this spring. This is an ultra special post because it was entirely picked out by my dapper fellow. *(insert proud enormous pink fluffy hearts and batting eyelashes) I went on a bit of a shopping spree on Wednesday and picked up a gangle of goodies from all over, however, when it came to choosing something to wear for today’s post I was in a frenzy of what to wear. Thank GOD he came to help…

I love how these shoes pop with the pink in the blazer. The neon and canvas shoe mixed with the vintage style blazer is a great blend for a modern day look.

TGIF my lovelies,

Palazzo Poppin’

*Pictures from pinterest*

Move over skinny jeans, there is a new, more comfortable pant in town, The palazzo pant. This light weight, breezy cotton is such a great spring item for everyone’s wardrobe. It made it’s return (originally from the 1960’s) last spring and is here to stay this year as well. At first, I admit I wasn’t a fan of this item as I am smaller on the bottom than the top and felt that it made me look stumpy.  A lot of last seasons looks were paired with flats and I noticed that by adding a simple wedge it really elongates the pant.

I decided to add this great vintage yellow blazer for a little bit more of a classic less boho look.
