Summer Nights

The best part about Phoenix in the summer are the nights after a storm.  The temps usually drop about 10-15 degrees and there’s a new found breeze in the air.  I know everyone else in the world keeps talking about this week being the “end of summer” but that’s not the case for us. Come October and I may start wearing pants…Maybe! I love my brights and prints so I am happy that Summer is sticking around for awhile. :)

Men’s Medium-Phillip Lim x Target

In true shop-a-holic fashion, I rushed to my local Target to scope out the Phillip Lim x Target Collection.  I had seen a good portion of the collection online before heading out, but I really didn’t know what to expect.  I swooped this camo tee in the Men’s section.  If you don’t do this yet START NOW! There is something about a Men’s Medium that looks amazing on every girl.  :) phillip lim for target camo, phillip lim for target, camo phillip lim shirt, tory burch sunglasses, targetstyle phillip lim for target camo, phillip lim for target, camo phillip lim shirt, tory burch sunglasses, targetstyle phillip lim for target camo, phillip lim for target, camo phillip lim shirt, tory burch sunglasses, targetstyle

A Colorful Frock

Good Morning World! That is how I felt when waking up this fine Monday! DF and I had a super relaxing weekend and I feel rested and ready for this work week! I had some errands to run so I threw on my usual weekend staple, a dress and sandals.  When the temperatures heat up I find it hard to want to put an outfit together because everything seems uncomfortable.  Throwing on a colorful frock is the best solution!

Prabal Gurung Dress

Unless you’ve been living under a rock EVERYBODY knows about the fab Prabal Gurung/Target collaboration.  I picked up this little number a few days after the launch.  This was the first Target collaboration I made an effort to stop into within the first week. I loved almost everything from the line. Prabal’s designs are so unique and bright. The New york-based designer has been consistently wow-ing us since his first collection debuted in 2009. His design philosophy is characterized by a mixture of modern luxury, indelible style and an astute sense of glamour.  Here is how I styled his drop waist dress…prabal gurung for targetPrabal Gurung For Target Drop Waist Dress in First Date PrintPrabal Gurung For Target Drop Waist Dress in First Date Print

Fur Cape Type of Day

Good Morning Loves!

I know we are only in the first week of 2013, but this year has started off so great.  Each year I feel like my resolutions goals are more focused and more attainable and that feels so good.  Dapper Fellow and I have quite the lineup for fun events and trips planned.   So many blessings to be thankful for and so many awesome memories to look forward to!

Today’s outfit is centered around this amaze cape/fur number that my AMAZING sister Norma gave me for Christmas. It is so cozy and perfect for winter days! I realize fur may be something that is a little much for some, but this piece is perfect for that exact person. Subtle and warm, but fashionable! It is perfect for weekend wear!

Lace & Polka Dots

Hello lovelies,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday! With all the hustle and bustle I unintentionally took a few days off from blogging/technology to fully enjoy my family and catch up with friends. There is always a sense of sadness that I feel about Christmas because I wish it would last longer.  The act of giving, loving, sacrificing, coming together and celebrating is so profound I get really sad that it’s over so quickly.  I am so incredibly grateful for my amazing family, friends and my dapper fellow that I want more time. I want one more day with us all together laughing and cooking and eating and watching movies. I want one more day to tell them all how much I love them and how much they mean to me.  I want one more day relaxing with Dapper Fellow at home, just him and I.  I want one more day cuddling with my dogs and not having to work.  I want one more day to thank/celebrate God for the ultimate gift of His Son.  It is a lot to soak in and as another Christmas has passed I am in awe of the blessings in my life and grateful to be alive.  :)

With that said…Today’s outfit is a juxtapose mix.  This is a standard Amy move…Running late, getting ready for work, trying my best to throw something together.  Not my favorite outfit, but it works.  I got this scarf a few months ago when it was still in the 90’s and I forgot how soft it is.  I actually like how the mix of grey’s and yellow’s work together…

Subtle Color

This shirt is yet another “transitional piece” that works great with the changing of seasons. It is lightweight and neutral in color which practically makes it matchable with everything.  For now it will have to be tucked into shorts, but in the cooler months I look forward to pairing it with boots, fur vests, and other fun layers.  :)

Summer Leopard-Black and Brown

This is the month from Hell in Phoenix.  From the end of July to Labor day it is muggy and our temps are heating well above 110.  It is a time where I find it rather difficult to put together outfits. Let’s face it… all I really want is to be in a swim suit 24/7.  This long sleeved sheer blouse has more of a layered, winter look.  There is no way I could even think of layering a long sleeved blouse with a tank in this heat.  Instead, I rolled the sleeves all the way up and wore a black bandeau underneath the blouse to make it more airy and wearable!

Ikat and Floral

I love getting hooked on a new print for a new season. Since the start of summer I have purchased two Ikat pieces and am smitten.  I love the unique texture and bleeding of the pattern.  I picked up this bag at The Gap on sale for $15.00.  I had originally had it in mind for traveling, but it has become my daily work bag. Even though the print is bold, the lighter blues mix and match well.

Birds & Stripes

I am pleased to announce the winner for AVC’s first giveaway…drumroll please. Congratulations Kachet from The Lipstick Giraffe!!! You’re going to LOVE your Philosophy kit!

Sooooooo, TGIF lovelies. I am so excited for the weekend. I can’t wait to relax, catch up with friends and lay out in the sun. I feel like this look is perfect for the weekend. This outfit was sort of thrown together last minute. I purchased this skirt earlier in the week while thrifting. It is basic, baggy, and has pockets so I decided to pair it with a blouse, tucked in with a belt to add a bit more structure.  I was pleased with the result.

This necklace is just to die for. I found it at  F21 for $12.80. BOOM! Such a steal. The detailing and hardware is amaze.  I feel like you will be seeing a lot more of this one.

These wedges are one of my favorite summer go-to’s c/o my dapper fellow. I love mixing neutrals and seriously feel like they match everything…best part, they’re soooo comfortable. *Look at Lily’s cameo in the back, haha :0)

I have loved friendship bracelets since the age of five.  After moving to AZ from San Diego in December I thought I lost my favorite one, but recently found it… (the one in the middle that is red, yellow and orange).  A friend of mine started this organization called Hug It Forward where they build schools for children in 3rd world countries out of water bottles. Pretty amazing stuff and you should ck it out in more detail here.

Thank you for all who participated with my first giveaway and I can’t wait for the next one! Happy Friday!
