When packing for Flagstaff I realized that I don’t really have any of my Winter sweaters handy so I swooped up a few things from the Gap sale last week. I love neons in the summer time! Who doesn’t want their tan to get that extra pop!? This look was perfect for running around town followed by a BBQ at my Aunt and Uncles.

Good Morning lovelies! I don’t know about you, but I am getting so excited for the Holiday’s. My mama’s birthday is tomorrow and then our favorite holiday, Thanksgiving is on Thursday!!! So much to be thankful for! In a post back in October I shared with you my fav Fall items and this outfit is spot on to that list! During this time of year you can 90% of the time find me in something similar to the pictures below. It doesn’t matter what trend is in or not each year, I have been sporting something similar to this look since college. There are many ways you can mix and match this outfit. Ditch the thick liquid legging, replace it with a tight, pair the blazer with rugged cut off shorts and add booties! For a more layered look add a thick knit underneath the blazer and leave it unbuttoned. This would look great with the black flat boots!

Make yourself a great day!
As my 29th birthday is approaching I always try and make a list of goals to accomplish within that upcoming year. I know a lot of people do this on Jan 1st at the start of a new year, but I never have done it like that. Some of the goals are light and simple ie: “Obey more traffic rules than break them.” (OK- this was one I had for 23 and I still haven’t gotten there yet!) And some of them contain more substance and depth. ie: “Volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters.” Each year discovering new things about myself and attempting to diversely challenge myself to MORE. Knowing more people, reading more, growing more, serving more, loving more, eating more healthy, slowing down more, being more patient, working out and taking care of my body more, listening more, giving more, learning more, being more quiet…etc. As you can tell by now I am a total Leo and love every minute of it.
Which brings me to today’s outfit. This top and shorts are recently from Forever 21. Each year as I get older this store, as it states in the name remains the same age and as a result contains less items that I can purchase. I am ok with it. I love a deal and when buying “new clothes” they have very savvy options. I was surprised when I went in and found these two gems last month. My BFF Krystal has these shorts and I loved them on her so much I got the same pair. After all, I have a soft spot for polka dots. I can’t wait to pair this top with a colored jean and flats for the fall/winter.

Have a wonderful evening lovelies,
I find it harder and harder over the years to make use of ALL my clothing. I have TONS of dresses/skirts and high heels that I use to wear out every weekend in my early 20’s that have since started collecting dust due to my adult schedule and more laid back, dressed for comfort mentality. I have been wanting to do a post on something that I normally would consider an “PM wear” item and make it more day time appropriate. This gold skirt is from H&M forever ago. To me, gold/glitter has a stigma for PM wear. To tone down this skirt I paired it with a basic, loose, white t-shirt and flat gladiator sandals. Anytime sparkle is concerned I think matching it with something basic will relieve the za za zoom a bit. A simple gold necklace with soft wavey hair really brings an overall daytime look.
