Western Wear

I couldn’t wait to soak in all the desert landscape at Tanque Verde Ranch.  I found this long fringe number that I still had not worn and knew it would be perfect.

Spring Fashion w/Savers

Oh hello there! Remember me? It’s been awhile friends and I am so glad to be back in the blogosphere.  Just in time for Spring fashion trends with Savers.  This week I will be styling several looks with different pieces I purchased from my local Savers. Savers has always been a favorite thrift store of mine. My love for thrifting began shopping at Savers in high school and continued to Vancouver when I went to college and then shopped at Value Village, their Canadian store!

Let’s talk Culottes!  No, you’re not having flashbacks of your 3rd grade teacher.  Culottes are back yo, or at least I like wearing them.  Not something for everyone I realize, but the key thing I found when styling them is to pair them with a heel to elongate your legs.  The pants speak for themselves so the rest of the outfit is simple with classic touches.  My favorite piece of this look is the VINTAGE FERRAGAMO purse!!!! It was love at first sight.  :)

Coachella Inspiration-Volume 2

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! Time for my 2nd Coachella outfit inspiration post in my Coachella Inspiration series.

Today’s look is something I know all of you can easily duplicate.  Starting with a printed tank, add some cut offs, ankle booties, fun sunnies and voila…an effortless Coachella outfit!   I added the Shawl Dawl (last seen here). If you have any sort of similar shawl or kimono this would work as well, or simply leave it out.

Denim on Denim-Oh no she didn’t!

Ok, ok I know what you’re thinking…denim on denim? CRIME! Did someone say Canadian Tuxedo? No, but really ladies I admittedly wore this denim on denim outfit today because I was seriously inspired from fellow bloggers. As a girl who went to college in Canada I have been weary to exemplify this look, but let me tell you…I am sort of diggin on it. I don’t know what do you think?

Birds & Stripes

I am pleased to announce the winner for AVC’s first giveaway…drumroll please. Congratulations Kachet from The Lipstick Giraffe!!! You’re going to LOVE your Philosophy kit!

Sooooooo, TGIF lovelies. I am so excited for the weekend. I can’t wait to relax, catch up with friends and lay out in the sun. I feel like this look is perfect for the weekend. This outfit was sort of thrown together last minute. I purchased this skirt earlier in the week while thrifting. It is basic, baggy, and has pockets so I decided to pair it with a blouse, tucked in with a belt to add a bit more structure.  I was pleased with the result.

This necklace is just to die for. I found it at  F21 for $12.80. BOOM! Such a steal. The detailing and hardware is amaze.  I feel like you will be seeing a lot more of this one.

These wedges are one of my favorite summer go-to’s c/o my dapper fellow. I love mixing neutrals and seriously feel like they match everything…best part, they’re soooo comfortable. *Look at Lily’s cameo in the back, haha :0)

I have loved friendship bracelets since the age of five.  After moving to AZ from San Diego in December I thought I lost my favorite one, but recently found it… (the one in the middle that is red, yellow and orange).  A friend of mine started this organization called Hug It Forward where they build schools for children in 3rd world countries out of water bottles. Pretty amazing stuff and you should ck it out in more detail here.

Thank you for all who participated with my first giveaway and I can’t wait for the next one! Happy Friday!

Adore it? Afford it! Plus DIY jean shorts

Adore it? Afford it! is back!!!! Things have been busy busy over here. Due to my numerous vacations I have increased my work load and have had absolutely no time for outfit posts, but I have still managed to do a little bit of shopping. :) I thought I would share with you some great deals I have scored lately as well as my first DIY post.

Free People is by far my favorite brand, but it tends to be more expensive for my budget.  I typically score most of my great FP finds at Nordstrom Rack, but this adorbs crochet romper I found at TJ MAXX for $25.  It is a part of their swimwear line (which I didn’t even know they had).  It has a subtle gold tint to the fabric and I can’t wait to break it out this summer to the pool with a fedora and some wedges.

This watch I got at Target for $19.99. It is a men’s watch with a brown leather band and black and gold face. I only buy men’s watches because I love the large face. :)

Now onto my first DIY project on AVC…I am a big fan of the high waisted cut off Levi’s jean shorts that they sell at UO, but I didn’t want to pay $50 bucks for something I know I could make. I have been on the hunt for a good black pair of Levi’s jeans and finally found them yesterday at Goodwill.   I cut them and have only washed them once, but the fraying will only increase.

Happy Hump day lovelies!

P.S. What do you think of my new look? My friends over at Les Conservateurs gave me a little makeover. :)

Studs & Collars

I was shopping earlier this week and found this amazing pair of Jeffery Campbell spiked ankle strap heels. I have been looking for a bright heel and this was just what the Dr. ordered. I paired it with a crisp white button up shirt and a boyfriend jean because let’s be serious…they speak for themselves. I am really liking the collared necklace trend and have added a few into my collection. This one in particular is simple but still gets the job done.

Windy City Vol 3

The food in Chicago is amazing. Last night after the Cubs game we went to this restaurant called Cheesies, where all they had was different gourmet grilled cheeses. My dapper fellow was in LOVE! We got the mac and cheese grilled cheese and split it. OH MY GOSH! I seriously want to open one in Scottsdale because it was that amazing! There are old school video games inside as well as a full bar. I was taken back to my childhood…I mean grilled cheeses and pac man? Does it get any better?

Today is the first day that we have been here where I am not freezing. The sun is out and air is crisp. We did a lot of walking today on the hunt for what else, but MORE pizza! :) One of the best things about Chicago is how clean it is. They spend so much time and money on landscaping and if you’re lucky enough to come in the spring/summer you get to see the result…Tulips galore. Pink, red, blue, orange, green, yellow, white, purple, every single color you can think of. It just makes the city look that much better.
