This past weekend it was 85 in Arizona. Spring is in the air! It was nice enough to lay out, wear shorts, and get a suntan. I have worn both of these items several times before, just never together. Last year around this time was when I first began mixing prints. I remember feeling so weird about breaking the traditional rules of matching. Are you comfortable mixing prints? Is it something you’ve wanted to try, but didn’t know how? I discovered a few tips that helped me out a lot along the way that I shared with you here if you’re interested in checking them out! I would love to know your feedback.

This is the first year I had a few gfs over and actually made plans to watch the Oscars. It was so much fun! I was sort of surprised by the neutral colored theme of the evening. But that didn’t stop these beauties from show stopping! Here are some of my fav’s:
Love this peuter color and the cut outs are perfection on Naomi Watt’s perfect figure. Her hair looks beautiful and the entire look works so well!
Jessica stunned with her loose waves and delicate beaded gown. I don’t feel like this is a dress that would look good on many, but she looks amazing
Reese Witherspoon looks beautiful in this cobalt blue Louis Vuitton. I adore her and think she can do no wrong. She also looks like she has not aged at all! Oh and did you know she just had a baby?!
Jennifer Lawrence is so dazzling in Dior. I also love that she accidentally fell while she went to accept her award. She seems so normal. Loved her in this gown.
Is it just me or does everyone need to eat a cheeseburger? Damn Gina! I love Amanda Seyfried’s quirky personality and we all know how I feel about Mr Alexander McQueen…PERFECTION!
I think this dress was the winner for me. I LOVE this gown on Halle Berry. The futuristic structured shoulders and the low cut top flatter this gorgeous actress perfectly. She killed it!
What were your favorites of the night? I absolutely loved the Les Mis performance!
I hope you have a great day today!

I ventured to my parents house on Monday to say hi to my mama who was off work. She told me to take some oranges because they had too many. I am pretty sure they could be supplying Minute Maid at this point.
I have been wearing this jacket with almost EVERYTHING lately. You may remember it from my SF trip here. Perfect because the 90’s are in full comeback mode. This outfit could easily be transformed to an evening look by dressing it up with a booty or a heel. I would also swap out the bag for a clutch and maybe change necklaces to a closer to the neckline statement piece.

One staple I believe every girl needs is an oversized grandpa cardigan. This is sometimes referred to as a boyfriend sweater as well. I like grandpa cardigan. I got this one at Goodwill for $7, but I am also a fan of perusing the Men’s section of your favorite store. Although any color will work I like to start with a neutral color. This will give you more room to mix different accessories like a hat, scarf, pair of earrings, shoes etc. I am diggin the neutrals in general lately so I kept my palet simple with browns and tans.

Today I am so excited to share with you one of my best friends from San Diego, Whitney Bond. Whit was in town this weekend and I couldn’t wait to snap some outfit shots of her for the AVC. Although Whitney’s expertise is in the kitchen (she writes a food blog called Little Leopard Book) she always manages to stay on trend. What I love about Whitney is how good of a bargain hunter she is. Her go-to stores are H&M and Cotton On.
