What’s up DOT??!?

It’s just another manic Monday…I wish it was Sunday. No seriously I do wish it was Sunday.  I hope you had a good weekend.  I stayed busy with DIY’s and some good trash TV.  Every once in awhile I love a good dose of trash tv.  You know, like The Real Housewives of Miami, Silicon Valley Startups, and of course my favorite, the original mind numbing, trashy reality show, Keeping up with the Kardashians. I ran around and did errands with my mom on Saturday morning and this is when I stole borrowed her black and white polka sweater!  The striped shirt underneath is more of a tunic in length so when I added the sweater for a contrast I tucked the shirt under about 6 inches.  These pants are called The Rockstar Jean and I purchased these last year at Old Navy.  They pretty much have every color of the rainbow.  The fit of these pants ia very slim and almost jegging like.  I don’t really enjoy this part of them, but at the time they were one of the only red jean I could find so I get over it when I wear them! :) Plus who can say no to Red, Black and White together?

OH and remember last week when I asked for your help in voting for my family’s restaurant. I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who messaged me and responded almost instantly.  It means so much to me to know I have such awesome friends and bloggeristas out there on my team.  S0…..guess what? JIMMY AND JOES PIZZERIA WON!!! I could hardly contain myself as you may have seen on instagram here. This clearly made my weekend. I hope you have a fabulous day.

Seeing Red

Today was such a gorgeous day in Phoenix. I couldn’t wait for work to be over so I could go outside and play. (Yes, I am still a little kid at heart). About a year ago I first saw “red” jeans in magazines and I could not locate them anywhere in stores or online.   Since then it has evolved in almost every color of the rainbow at every clothing store and online site.  I love colored pants because like many women I get kind of tired of the usual “blue jeans.” Some women are afraid of color and think they should allow this “colored jean” trend to pass, but I really feel the opposite and know it is a possible look for everyone.
Red is a good starter color to add more of in your wardrobe.  It has almost made it’s way to the black and white category. It can work with a simple and clean look for the woman who is a bit hesitant or it can be rocked as a unique, loud statement piece to the edgier, fearless woman.  For the first woman, I like red pants with a black fitted shirt and black flats or medium heel.  For the second woman, I like red pants paired with a killer 5inch heel and sexy blouse.  The best part about red is it’s versatility.

I absolutely adore the fishtail braid and am still struggling myself to figure it out.  One of my girlfriends at work did this loose beauty for me today. Thanks Alana! :)
