I always love a good adventure. Last weekend My Dapper Fellow and I ventured down south to the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch for a weekend stay of ranch life, horses and the wild, wild west.

Tanque Verde Ranch is located 2 hours south of Phoenix, AZ. The resort is equipped with all-inclusive accommodations catering 3 meals a day and endless activities to keep you happy and occupied. Everything from hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding to yoga, fishing or sand volleyball is available. We woke up early Sunday morning and did the Breakfast Ride which was the highlight of our trip and I will share more later this week. Our Casita in the photo below was fully equipped with more than we needed. All the rooms at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch are tv-less in attempt to get you to detach from everything necessary for the week/ed.
I look forward to sharing more about our stay later this week. I hope you make yourself a great day!

Staying cool is always a priority for me when dressing for the Summer months. This dress I purchased in 3 colors. Sorry I am not sorry. It was the best gift from God in the middle of June when I found this number for $12.90 at Forever 21. And in 3 colors? deal! I normally try to steer away from nude/neutrals because they can almost always wash you out. But thanks to a Summer tan and this darker version of fabric it works. I love this dress because I can picture myself throwing a sweater over it for the winter. That is if Winter ever comes… Thankfully, our heated months are nearly over and we can hopefully all be thinking about the words Hot coffee or jeans really soon… 😐

My main reason to encourage a great staycation starts with the pool life! I was on swim team at age 4 and never looked back. I love the fact that the Valley Ho offers two different pools for your convenience. The OH pool has a DJ at the pool and is very fun and lively, while the OHasis Pool serves as a quieter and relaxing alternative. Upon arrival we noticed that no one as at the OHasis Pool so we opted for rest and relaxation. It was easy to feel right at home.

Our second day at the resort happened to be on a Sunday. HVH offers Recovery Sunday’s where they offer several different packages to encourage guests to recover and relax. Sounds good to me! we ventured over to the other OH pool to relax in a cabana and their huge comfortable lounge chairs. It was a Sunday so it wasn’t crowded and we had such an amazing spread of fruit and veggies to enjoy between dips in the pool. If you ever get the chance to visit Scottsdale or are simply looking for a place to get away for the weekend I highly recommend Hotel Valley Ho. Thank you for such a memorable weekend and taking such good care of us. We will be back soon!

Super excited to share with you a new online boutique called PinkBlush that I have been working with that has some awesome, fashionable pieces that are ridiculously affordable. I immediately fell in love with this bell sleeved black little number, I look forward to pairing this dress with high boots in the fall and winter! (maybe even with tights)
*FYI* —- The best part about this online boutique is that they actually offer a fashionable maternity line with some of the same patterns and styles! I know from girlfriends who have been pregnant that it can be a challenge to find cute, fashionable maternity dresses. Perfect for all you mamas!!!

June is in full swing in AZ and it is hot hot hot!!!! In my efforts to take a mini escape from the heat I am sharing an unseen post from much cooler months. I feel so lucky to have met such AMAZING Arizona women through blogging. Audree, from Simply Audree Kate is one of those special gals. We recently got together for the launch of the Glam App (more to come on that this week) and it reminded me of a shoot we did earlier this year that I hadn’t posted. Insert monkey holding hands over eyes emoji here…It’s true, life gets busy and sometimes things are better late than never people.

It’s been awhile since I have blogged or even logged onto my website. I told myself when I started this bad boy 3 years ago that I would never allow writing and sharing with you all to become an item on my to-do list. Sometimes life happens and unfortunately my little passion project tends to get the backseat. And boy did life happen this past month.
I attended a funeral for someone who was very near and dear to me. I have only been to one other funeral before so this was really new. The pain from a death like this was something way bigger than I could have imagined. It very much crippled me and made normal routine events and tasks seem oddly difficult. I don’t think you ever get over the death of a loved one and I am realizing that is ok.
One thing that kept popping in my head over the past month is how “we’re not in Kansas anymore.” Life is tough and real and serious and sad and scary and it hurts. I have obviously known this for awhile now, but every time life happens I am reminded how precious it truly is.
So, I can sit here and be sad & fight the process or I can face life head on with all it’s experiences, challenges and scariness. I choose the latter. I am so thankful for my amazing little life. Every circumstance good or bad makes me stronger, wiser and more compassionate of others. I am grateful for that. I am happy to be alive, to live in a beautiful place with my favorite people and to feel real love all around me every single day. My goal for 2015 is to focus more on the content in my posts rather than a quick outfit recap. I want to dream bigger, be better and share more of my heart with all of you. So without further adieu, Black is back.

I am always looking for great go-to, polished looks that I can plan in my head and just know that the outfit will work out. I am always on the go and do not have the time I would like to play dress-up and have fun experimenting in my closet. I grabbed this Old Navy skirt last month when they were having their big Fall sale and it is the perfect addition to my fall wardrobe. I can’t wait until winter when I can pair it with tights or a chunky knit sweater.

The tall Gladiator Sandals are not for everyone. I saw these debuting last year around this time at MBFW and knew I needed them! Fashion is all about taking risks, being creative and having fun. I see trends come and go that I never even dabble in and then there are some I can’t seem to break away from. Like mixed prints or polka dots. What works for me may not work for you and that’s the beauty of fashion, anything goes.
