Venice, CA

I recently took girls trip to LA LA land. It was perfect break from the heat to relax and enjoy some sunny beach weather. While visiting I was able to spend the day in an area I hadn’t been before. It’s hard to believe I have been to LA dozens of times and never spent time in the amazing, eclectic, lively beach city they call Venice. amys vintage closet arizona amy black arizona fashion misguided dress misguided slit dress misguided babe misguided babes arizona fashion bloggers free people hat free people girl how to style a hat zara sandals amys vintage closet arizona amy black arizona fashion misguided dress misguided slit dress misguided babe misguided babes arizona fashion bloggers free people hat free people girl how to style a hat zara sandals amys vintage closet arizona amy black arizona fashion misguided dress misguided slit dress misguided babe misguided babes arizona fashion bloggers free people hat free people girl how to style a hat zara sandals

Stripes & Boat Shoes

TGIT loves!  Where did the week go?! My goodness!!!  I am mixing things up this week and doing Instagram Friday, instead of my usual Thursday!!! So stay tuned!!! Today’s outfit includes one of my absolute favorite wardrobe pieces. This striped shirt I found at a thrift store in Long Beach 4 years ago. It is from JCrew and I have worn it so much through every season.  Here I paired it with these Free People highlighter yellow corduroy cut offs and Sperrys.  Shorts and Sperrys will soon be a distant memory so I am trying to get in as much wear as possible before my favorite season hits!!

Leopard With Neon

At this point I feel that it is clear that leopard is one of my favorite things to wear. I love the versatile look the print brings to every outfit.  Aiming for a comfortable, neonic combination I added the orange chain/yellow sandals last minute. Subtle brights are perfect for Summer!

Adore it? Afford it! Plus DIY jean shorts

Adore it? Afford it! is back!!!! Things have been busy busy over here. Due to my numerous vacations I have increased my work load and have had absolutely no time for outfit posts, but I have still managed to do a little bit of shopping. :) I thought I would share with you some great deals I have scored lately as well as my first DIY post.

Free People is by far my favorite brand, but it tends to be more expensive for my budget.  I typically score most of my great FP finds at Nordstrom Rack, but this adorbs crochet romper I found at TJ MAXX for $25.  It is a part of their swimwear line (which I didn’t even know they had).  It has a subtle gold tint to the fabric and I can’t wait to break it out this summer to the pool with a fedora and some wedges.

This watch I got at Target for $19.99. It is a men’s watch with a brown leather band and black and gold face. I only buy men’s watches because I love the large face. :)

Now onto my first DIY project on AVC…I am a big fan of the high waisted cut off Levi’s jean shorts that they sell at UO, but I didn’t want to pay $50 bucks for something I know I could make. I have been on the hunt for a good black pair of Levi’s jeans and finally found them yesterday at Goodwill.   I cut them and have only washed them once, but the fraying will only increase.

Happy Hump day lovelies!

P.S. What do you think of my new look? My friends over at Les Conservateurs gave me a little makeover. :)

Coachella 2012

I am beyond excited because my FAV time of year is coming…COACHELLA!!!! I first started going 3 years ago and have been hooked.  I was living in San Diego until a few months ago and my girlfriends and I would pile in my yellow VW bug, with the windows down and music blaring, ah…memories.  I am super excited this year because I get to bring my fabulous dapper fellow of a boyfriend for his first Coachella experience!!!  Like any event I try to plan out my outfits accordingly for the wkd ahead of time. What I love about dressing for this festival is that it is very vintage, hippie and laid back. The goal for everyone is to look simple, comfortable, and most importantly not too hot (temp wise).  There is so much walking around that clothes really need to be accessible and easy.  No high heels needed for Coachella.  I love both the distressed and lacey looks this year.  It adds a very rocker yet feminine appeal to any outfit.  The looks below are all from one of my fav go-to online websites called  Nasty Gal

Everyone needs a good Romper. It is such an effortless piece of clothing but speaks for itself.  Add a necklace, belt, big earrings, or hat to spice it up.  I also love anything and everything leopard.  This “mullet” style skirt is so perfect for Coachella and I am going to need it in my life.  Another staple item is a vintage t-shirt. The bald eagle tank is fun matched with a high waisted white button up short.  I scored a pair from Savers last year that I plan on bringing with me to emulate this look.

This head piece is so enchantingly vintage.  It is from Free People of course, the best modern day vintage line out there. I also love her crochet top which is perfect for festival attire.  Just over a month away…I can’t wait to take pics of the fab outfits that I see and share them with you!
