San Fran-Round 1

Good Afternoon my loves! Today was my first day back to work from Dapper Fellow and I’s SF getaway. We had an incredible time, ate amazing food and visited with friends. I was able to set up my posts last week before I left town and it feels weird blogging for the first time in a week. Today’s look are pieces from my Zara haul.  The entire store was on sale and I went a little cray.  All such good deals though. I cannot wait until the day Phoenix gets a Zara. Stay tuned the rest of this week for more SF outfits! I have a lot of catching up to do, but I wanted to give you all a HUGE thanks for the large response for my Hearts Giveaway! I will be announcing the winner this Friday 1/25/13! Enter here! If you haven’t already!

Phoenix Art Museum-Fashion of the 1920’s

This weekend was my first time visiting the Phoenix Art Museum. I was very impressed by the size of the museum. The main exhibit we were there to see was the Modern Spirit:Fashion of the 1920’s . I am very drawn towards the 20’s mainly because of how much of a mystery they were.  Although the fashion was bold and vibrant most film and photos are in black and white. It is insanely fascinating to picture women breaking rules dancing to jazz, smoking and causing a ruckus, challenging social standards,  rebelling and cutting off all of their hair. If that doesn’t get you excited and make you feel empowered I don’t know what will.  It’s even more strange that before this they weren’t able to live as independent and free.  Verdict is in…I woulda been a flapper :)ohx

After speaking with the most adorable older man who worked I found out the curator of this exhibit came from The Met. The exhibit runs until mid February so if you live in town or are visiting be sure to check it out!

My San Francisco Weekend

Happy Tuesday Ya’ll!

I got back early Monday morning from a weekend trip to SF to visit my best friend Annie.  It never feels like it’s enough time, but I am always grateful for these getaways.  One thing I always laugh about when we are together is the amount of leopard items that are found in her room. It is no secret that we have a secret obsession, but hey, that’s what friends are for, sharing crazy common loves.  This leopard getup I wore on Sunday where we went to an event honoring Pastor Appreciation month at their church.

Crazy for Cabo

Hello lovelies!!! I have been MIA this entire week because I was on vay cay in Cabo San Lucas.  I had a wonderful time and it felt so good to not have a phone, not be connected to work and the busyness of life. Spent most of our days relaxing by the pool and the beach and most of our nights at fun restaurants and out on the town.

If you are ever heading to Mexico I definitely recommend it as a tropical relaxing vacation.  It is fairly cheap to fly and while you’re down there everything is very reasonable.  If you are wondering what to pack here are some recommendations:

Cabo especially in the summer is hot hot hot.  It was low to mid 90’s the entire time, which may sound bad to you guys, but coming from AZ it was definitely a break from our usual 110 degrees. Knowing this I kept things pretty simple while packing. I avoided high heels, heavy accessories, makeup and all of my hair products and irons.  It is a vacation after all right? Time to let your hair down and relax.  I stuck to light dresses, shorts, tank tops and one pair of flip flops.  In the past I had brought cute sandals and with all of the walking even those end up heating/hurting your feat. Here are a few pics from the trip.

Mumu’s in San Diego

I snuck away to San Diego for the weekend to spend some time with my girlfriends and it was such a treat to beat the heat for a few days.  The last day we were there my gf and I went to the beach for brunch and to relax for the last few hours we had in town.  As you can see it was a PERFECT day and of course made us wish we were staying longer.  The previous day we had done some thrifting at my old stomping grounds and I picked up this mumu dress. When I found it and showed it to her we both were in awe. I said “Um I love it! But my boyfriend will hate it!” We laughed, but isn’t that the truth.

The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk

This past weekend I was in San Francisco visiting my best friend Annie. She had a lot of fun things planned for us, one being a trip to the De Young Museum for the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit. This was clearly right up my ally and in true Annie/Amy fashion we spent the entire day thrifting and shopping before hand. The Museum allowed camera phones with no flash which didn’t produce the most high quality pictures, but the exquisite gowns still shined through.

The experience was beyond exceptional and I look forward to visiting the De Young Museum again while I am in SF. If you’re ever in the area I highly recommend it. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Las Vegas-Recap

I got back from Vegas late Sunday night.  I went there with my boyfriend’s family in celebration of his sister, Janel’s birthday.  It was a very fun filled wkd with family and friends.  :)

I am currently moving in with my Dapper Fellow so things have been quite busy around here.  We moved most of the day, in 109degree heat…Oh ya, sounds amazing doesn’t it?! Tonight we spent a much overdue dinner at my parents house. Here is a recap of our LV trip…

Coachella-Wrap Up

Hi lovelies,

I was so hoping to be able to snap outfit shots daily to share with all of you the play by play of Coachella, but that didn’t happen. These first round of pics are from day 1. I am featuring Jessica, one of my dear friends from San Diego who invited me on this trip. Jessica walked in my room day 1 and said “Is this ok?!” And instantly began the photo shoot of her absolutely perfect Coachella outfit.

Windy City-Wrap up

We finally made it home! Chicago will always be my fav U.S. city and we had the most amazing time sight seeing, visiting family, eating and most importantly shopping.  Here are a few collages capturing the best moments of the trip…

If you have never been to Chicago I highly recommend traveling there. Go in the summer and go for a week. I hope all you lovelies are having an ab fab week!!!

Windy City- Museum Day

We have one more lovely day in beautiful Chicago! Today we were able to experience some of the great Museums. I love this look for a long day. Layering is essential in this city because you never know what to expect. I have always been a huge fan of Red, white and blue/black together. It is a comfortable and classic look that looks effortlessly tailored.
