Girls In Sneakers

The secret is out, sneakers aren’t just for men anymore. I have always been drawn towards any sort of masculine trend for women. Sneakers are very familiar to me, as I am dating a “sneaker head”, other wise known as DF.  Dapper Fellow loves sneakers like we love ALL shoes. He has a large influence on my day to day fashion even though he probably doesn’t think so. IMG_4311 IMG_4330 IMG_4332 IMG_4321

The Shine Project-Beauty Bar Event

You all should know by now my love for all things ASHLEY from the Shine Project. Last week she put on an awesome event geared towards a “ladies beauty night out!” Not only did this event have amazing rooms where ladies could get their hair, nails, and eyebrow’s done, but there was also a silent auction to win fabulous prizes. Considering my last run at a silent auction, I opted out of bidding. Haha. It was a great turnout and the best part was hearing about the work that Ashley and her camp are doing in all of these kids lives!!!

Spring Swap Event

If you follow me via Instagram then you know I attended a Spring Swap Event put on by the CO-OPHX organization! It was an amazing turnout and let me tell you, these ladies know how to organize an event.  I was a part of the SWAP team which helped with set-up and the organization of all of the donated items .  It was a perfect day in Phoenix and I was able to not only get to know some new friends, but also officially meet Karla and Kelsey who started the organization.  The venue was out front of 3 of the most darling vintage stores.  I cannot wait to go back when I have more time to get my shop on.  If you live in Phoenix I definitely recommend checking out these gems located on 6th St and Garfield! co-ophx spring swap

Feminine Chic

My day to day work routine is very casual, so when the weekend comes I cannot wait for any reason to get dressed up. This is what I wore to Ashley, from the Shine Project’s Beauty Night Out! (I wil be posting more about this fab event over the weekend!!!) I can’t get enough of this Prabal Gurung Dress (originally debuted here). I seriously wish they made it in 5 different patterns. So light and definitely one of those pieces you can literally throw on and in a matter of minutes you have a finished look.  It was the perfect little frock for a night out with my main girl, Mama Black! <3prabal gurung dresstj maxx statement necklace

Young Lives

Yesterday I shared with you what I wore to the fabulous “Vintage Women’s Tea” event that I attended. It was put on by the Arizona Young Lives Association.  Young Lives is an extension of Young Life.  It is “a program designed for high school and middle school girls who are expecting or are raising a child on their own.  Treating each mom and her child or children with unconditional love and respect, YoungLives offers teen moms relief from the isolation and struggle of their daily lives and hope for the future. YoungLives mentors provide friendship, parenting advice and help meeting the practical demands of raising a child. At YoungLives club and camp, moms get to socialize and have fun while their babies get the best possible care.”

The event was held to raise funds to send these young women to a camp over the summer. Along with tea, lunch and cookies there was an abundance of items to bid on via silent auction. I had never participated in a silent auction before, but I definitely got a little bid crazy! There was a raffle for guests to enter to win the below cart packed with  vintage goodies!!!!  AAAAAnnnnnd guess what??? I WON!!! I never win anything, but this was just too perfect for me!IMG_4423 IMG_4424 IMG_4426 IMG_4427 IMG_4428 IMG_4429 IMG_4430Stay tuned tomorrow for a fabulous collaboration!

Tea For Two

Good Morning loves! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend.  I always look forward to weekends where Dapper Fellow and I can just relax, catch up on sleep and enjoy a short break from everything.  But, lately It seems like my life has been non-stop.  You know those weekend days where you  are up and ready by 8am as if it was a week day and don’t return until it’s dark? This was a perfect all day outfit, comfortable, easy, and put together!! My day started with a Woman’s Tea with my mama and some of my favorite ladies! Be sure to come back tomorrow where I will be sharing more about the organization who put on this Vintage Women’s Tea!

Red Leather

TGIF!!!! I am attempting to take full advantage of all of my sweaters/jackets/normal clothes before we enter the point of no return aka: 100+ degree weather for 3 months.  Earlier this week I shared with you my 4 must have blazers and today we are talking leather jackets. Similar to a good blazer, a good leather jacket is essential for every woman’s wardrobe! Leather is trickier for women of all sizes because tailoring isn’t an option.  That’s why I recommend investing in a ONE good, quality, fitted leather jacket.  Although the price may initially scare you off, (they normally start around $300-$500) I can assure you that it is a piece you will wear FOREVER!!! Along with this red one you may remember my black leather jacket, a common repeat offender on AVC seen here here here here and here!!! (Can you tell I am obsessed with it?!?!)  I purchased both of these jackets on sale via Nordstrom Anniversary Sale SIX YEARS AGO!!! Sooooo worth it and they have only gotten softer and more comfortable with age. :)

Make yourself a good one!

You can never go wrong with a classic blazer. I feel as though every woman needs the following blazers in their closets: 1 black, 1 white/navy/tan/grey, 1 striped or two toned, and 1 floral or bright colored solid.  You will find that they go w/EVERYTHING you own!!!!  When I first laid eyes on this vintage blazer I instantly thought of Kate Middleton! So obvi it was coming home with me.  To play on this classic/vintage combination I added all vintage accessories.IMG_4374IMG_4379IMG_4382
