Don’t forget to enter my fabulous Hearts Giveaway! Good luck!
Today’s look is a classic black on black winter go-to for me if I am getting dressed up. I live in black blazers and this vintage one with the gold buttons has been such a practical, wearable piece. When wearing all one color I like the idea of mixing textures together. This will create more depth for your black on black look.

I didn’t grow up watching awards shows, but over the past few years I have totally gotten into them, mainly for the gorgeous gowns. This year did not let us down. I was literally FREAKING out at how gorgeous some of these ladies looked. My best dressed list is only women. Call me sexist, but I don’t get all that excited about a Calvin Klein suit vs a Tom Ford suit. A guy in a suit looks great to me, no matter if it’s from a sought after designer or from Banana Republic. Guys look good in suits. Period. Below you will only find my girl crushes
Anne Hathaway in Chanel-Ok so I read that she had to lose a ton of weight for Les Mis and she does look boney skinny, but girlfriend rocks her adorable pixie and body tight cream Chanel gown. She kept jewelry simple, but it works for her. She looks Flawless.
Claire Danes in Versace-Claire literally just had a baby. I can still see her awkward face in “Little Women” or the highly popular 90’s sitcom “My So Called Life.” She is still bringing it! I love the red wrap gown with her big blonde hair! Her jewels are Lorraine Schwartz.
Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen-I have little words for this dress. It made me jump off the couch. Best dressed in my opinion for the evening. She is such a babe and wears this amazing, timeless, sultry gown sooooo well. I feel like this dress was made for her. It speaks for itself so little hair and makeup is needed and that is how you see Kate on most days!
Jessica Alba in Oscar De La Renta-This girl is bananas. She is so stunning and this color orange could not be more perfect for her skin color. I love the loose curls to one side and the gorgeous diamond statement necklace. The material of this gown is so delicate and that furry clutch is a perfect addition! Love her in this!
Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli-This little nugget always seems to look fabulous. I love how grown up and sophisticated she looks. Her loose hair and minimal jewelry looks fab with her sun kissed skin!
Now onto the worst dressed of the Golden Globes…I honestly cannot believe people don’t have a friend, hair stylist, stylist, boyfriend to tell them that they don’t look good. I also noticed a trend of which some celebrities thought it was prom night…Big no no at the Golden Globes! I was very disappointed that one of my favs is included in this list, Zooey Deschanel.

Did you guys watch? What were your favorite gowns?
Have a wonderful Monday!
Yesterday Dapper Fellow and I did a little pre-SF shopping. As dinner time rolled around I suggested we go to The Parlor, a restaurant I had been to before, but he had not. When making suggestions to Dapper Fellow about restaurant choices it goes something like this…”Is it good?” “Is it foo foo?” “Is it expensive?” “Will I like it?” All of which are valid concerns. I am much more adventurous when it comes to trying out new things or tasting something I had never tried before and he likes what he likes. Which makes cooking for him very easy. In the 1.5years we have been dating I have seen this guy’s taste buds grow immensely. He recognizes ingredients, has become adventurous on his own, and samples things without me begging him. This may not sound important, but it is such a big deal to me. Growing up in the restaurant business everything is always centered around food. Being able to share a good meal with someone and talk about it is special. The flavors of the meal, conversation and the quality time combined is priceless.
The Parlor-(a beauty parlor turned pizza parlor) did not disappoint. A comfortable, hip, upscale modern pizzeria spot that grows it’s own vegetables and herbs. When you walk up to the front door the planters are along the side of the building and my heart, no joke, literally started to race. It is very difficult to find this sort of fresh eating practice in Phoenix.
The menu is lovely and offers the perfect variation of apps, salads, pizzas, sandwiches and pastas. Typically when ordering food I always get the special of the night or whatever the server recommends. No one knows the menu better than the staff that works there. We ordered the following:
Mac & Cheese: Hand Made Cavatelli / Shropshire Crema /Pancetta Breadcrumbs
Swiss Chard Salad: Swiss Chard/Brussels Sprout Leaves / Shaved Root Vegetables / Citrus / Feta / Hazelnut Pesto (You may have seen this on my Instagram. This is the best salad I have ever had!)
A Small Salsiccia-Schreiner’s Parlor Blend Sausage /Grilled Radicchio / Sage / Saba. (The Food Network named this pie Best in Arizona!!!)
Small Pappardelle Bolognese- Rustic Meat Sauce / Pecorino / Rosemary Oil
The portions were perfect. Not too big and not too small. Needless to say we still took a lot of food home. Thanks for the wonderful service and welcome from Nick the manager and your amazing food Parlor! In our family when we find a place we like a lot we call it a homerun! Dapper Fellow agrees and says we will be back very soon!
I am not sure when it fully happened, but I know it was early in my first year of college that I began to love accessories. Growing up as many girls born in the 80’s decade I was very drawn towards anything preppy. This was before Forever 21, H&M, Zara, Cotton On, and Franchesca’s. It was The Limited, Gap, 5-7-9, Abercrombie and Fitch, Holister, and Claires days. *sidenote (Gap was good then and is good now. They will always be a good go-to in my opinion) All of those stores at the time were very preppy. It was my time of collared shirts, khaki pants, sweater vests, Doc Martins, jellys, and Airwalks. The style was simple then and we had little options. This was before internet shopping was normal. As far as accessories, it was all sterling silver, charm bracelets, lockets, and anything Tiffany’s!!!
So somewhere from my bootcut khaki’s and Doc Martin wearing days I got accessorized through my new friend Ebay. It started with my love for Guatemalan friendship bracelets and literally the rest is history. In my early 20’s it wasn’t unusual for my bangles to be up to my elbows. Ridic I know.
My outfit today is compiled with 3 main preppy pieces- a white collared shirt, blazer and skinny jeans. By adding a gold floral statement necklace, spiked gold flats, cocktail ring, and 3 bold bracelets this ordinary preppy outfit has a little edge to it. One thing I think everyone strives for is originality. We may love and own the same items, but it’s how you wear them, combine them that truly shows who you are. What do you guys do to spice up ordinary looks?

Good Morning Loves!
I know we are only in the first week of 2013, but this year has started off so great. Each year I feel like my
resolutions goals are more focused and more attainable and that feels so good. Dapper Fellow and I have quite the lineup for fun events and trips planned. So many blessings to be thankful for and so many awesome memories to look forward to!
Today’s outfit is centered around this amaze cape/fur number that my AMAZING sister Norma gave me for Christmas. It is so cozy and perfect for winter days! I realize fur may be something that is a little much for some, but this piece is perfect for that exact person. Subtle and warm, but fashionable! It is perfect for weekend wear!
I was recently asked by the greatly talented James Korte from The Digital Armory to participate in a blog series titled “Artistpreneurs.” The series showcases young artists/entrepreneurs….get it? Artistpreneurs! James is an expert web designer and video editor who resides in Ohio. His talent runs deep as he excels at nearly everything he does. His company has grown tremendously over this past year and his work is highly recognized within the industry. He also is my cousin who I grew with for most of my childhood. Whether it was running through the woods of our cabin’s in Michigan, going on nature hikes with my dad, fishing on the lake or spending Thanksgiving at each other’s houses I always looked up to Jim and his brother Kyle. As adults we aren’t able to see each other near as much as we would like, but we are about to have a kick-ass family reunion and a cousin trip to Vegas this summer and I can’t even wait
The list of other participants in this project are out of this world inspiring and I feel very honored to be included in this group. You can ck out The Digital Armory website and my feature here!
Happy Monday kids!
