Savory Sunday’s-The Coffee Shop

One of my passions besides fashion is food.  Considering I am currently on a spending freeze from shopping I wanted to incorporate another dynamic for AVC…introducing “Savory Sunday’s” I am going to try and do this every week, but we will see how it goes.

I grew up in the restaurant industry. It has been my job since I was 15.  I currently manage one of my family’s restaurants called Jimmy and Joe’s.  When I lived in San Diego I managed two different concepts and it was there I was introduced to the farm to the table concept of food.  The idea of growing, producing, buying and eating locally.  A concept that many don’t know about or care about, but truly is important.  As a family and also with my Dapper Fellow we hardly ever eat at chained restaurants and seek out the mom and pop, organic, locally harvested spots.  Being in San Diego it was soooo easy to find places like this because they are BIG contributors in this movement and have perfect weather for farms.  Living in Arizona it is a bit more difficult, but they’re catching on. :)

Today I met up with two of my bests for lunch at a spot I had never been to before called The Coffee Shop.  It was the cutest, well marketed, amazing spot that we all enjoyed SO much.  I wish it wasn’t so far away from my house, but it was definitely worth the trip.

I got the Field Veggie sandwich and added turkey. Sooooo good! I hope you all had a fab weekend!

xoxo,

AVC

  2. That place is the best! so close to my house I find myself there weekly! The restaurant next to it, Joe’s Farm Grill is amazing as well as his two other restaurants which are in old town GIlbert, Liberty Market and Joes BBQ. You’ve gotta check them out! XO
